Arboriculture is the art, science, technology and business of tree care. It is practiced by arborists who are trained to promote tree health, discern tree problems and take measures to correct them. Arboriculture stresses the importance of tree care in modern urban, suburban and rural living. Tree care is more than pruning and tree removal. It also involves preservation of trees by making them healthier and structurally safer through implementing good practices such as fertilizing, proper pruning and providing plant health-care.
Realising the importance, Persatuan Arborist Malaysia (PArM) will be organizing the first National Arboriculture Conference (NAC 2014) in collaborating with Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Product (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia with the theme ‘Frontiers In Tropical Arboriculture’. NAC 2014 will take place in Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya from 2nd December to 4th December 2014.
During the conference, new research, technologies and technical innovations will be presented and discussed among scientists and practitioners. Our aim is to offer a program of interest to researchers as well as practitioners that would provide an excellent opportunity for participants to interact in the broad area of arboriculture and urban forestry. There will also be an exhibition of various arboriculture technologies, machineries and products at the conference venue.
